WALLACE, David Foster; VOLLMANN, William T.; DAITCH, Susan. The Review of Contemporary Fiction (signed)

£550.00

WALLACE, David Foster; VOLLMANN, William T.; DAITCH, Susan. The Review of Contemporary Fiction. Younger Writers Issue. Summer 1993, Vol. XIII, No. 2. Normal, IL: Dalkey Archive Press. 1993. 8vo. Softcover wraps. This copy signed without dedication by Wallace at the front endpaper. A near fine copy, just gently rubbed at the corners and tips, else fine.

A relatively scarce early profile of the three young authors, made especially scarce by the signature of Wallace to front endpaper, made especially cool by the three early photographs used on the front cover. Wallace’s own entry includes Larry McCaffery’s insightful interview with him, a reprint of his 1990 groundbreaking and much-anthologised essay ‘E Unibus Pluram: Television and U. S. Fiction’, and a short excerpt from his magnum opus, Infinite Jest, which Chad Harbach called ‘a dense star for lesser work to orbit’. This excerpt is only the second appearance of any text that would later be included in the novel. A desirable item for the Wallace collector.
