PENNELL, H. Cholmondeley. Pegasus Re-Saddled (SIGNED)

£75.00

Pegasus Re-Saddled, H. Cholmondeley Pennell. 1878. London: C. Kegan Paul. With ten illustrations by Du Maurier, and this copy with a headed letter from the illustrator pasted in to front endpaper, and dated 1892. Green cloth with gilt decoration to front board and gilt lettering to spine, all edges gilt. Frontis behind tissue, with all illustrations present. A very good copy, the cloth at the spine tips and corners pushed and a little rubbed, the gilt to spine a touch dulled but otherwise externally clean. Binding tight and square, the contents mostly excellent, with some handling marks in places, some very occasional light and patchy toning, and small inscription to brown front endpaper, presumably in pen. Uncommon.
