MALTZ, Albert. The Cross and the Arrow

£40.00

MALTZ, Albert. The Cross and the Arrow. London: George G. Harrap. 1946. First British edition. An interesting novel by a very intriguing author and screenwriter. This is his second novel, published just a few years before his blacklisting in the US by House Un-American Activities Committee for his involvement in the US Communist Party and apparent anti-American stance. He was one of the Hollywood Ten. The novel itself details German resistance to the rising Nazi regime. A near fine book, a trifle spotted at the textblock top edge but the binding fine, the dust jacket price-clipped with some tape repairs to the spine tip verso, a few other small bumps and closed tears also, but presentable.
