KESSON, Jessie. The White Bird Passes

£60.00
sold out

The White Bird Passes, Jessie Kesson. 1958. London: Chatto & Windus. 8vo. First edition, first printing of this scarce novel about a young girl growing up in the slums of a Scottish town. Blue cloth with gilt to spine, in excellent original dust jacket designed by Hugh Marshall. A very good book with a very gentle lean, the textblock a trifle spotted but internally clean and bright, the cloth itself sharp. Jacket is unclipped with a few nicks to the spine head and tail, a few nicks to the top edge front panel, and a few marks and stains to the white rear panel. Nevertheless a presentable copy, uncommon as such.
