HARLEY, Cecil R. Tinagra

£85.00

HARLEY, Cecil R. Tinagra. London: Houghton. 1932. 8vo. First edition. Publisher’s vibrant pale blue cloth lettered in black to the spine and front board, in the cream dust jacket. An excellent copy, the cloth clean and very bright, the textblock edges a touch spotted, with some spots occasionally seeping into prelims. The dust jacket priced 3/6 net with faint pencil reduction, some spots, marks and light rubbing, A few adhesive tape repairs to verso.

A novel set in the tropics of Calcutta, ‘a story of love and intrigue’ which oddly considers how white women of the bourgeois cope in sweltering heat, and with a rather sticky ending. Scarce.
