DAVID, Elizabeth. French Country Cooking

£250.00

DAVID, Elizabeth. French Country Cooking. London: Macdonald. 1965. 8vo. Second impression from the second edition. Publisher’s grey cloth lettered in brown and gilt to the spine, in the terrific wraparound dust jacket designed by John Minton. A fine copy, with a couple of faint spots to the textblock edges but without stamps, inscriptions, or spots within. The dust jacket unclipped (15/- net) and complete without issue, scarce thus.

A highlight of both mid-century culinary books, and of British dust jacket design. Originally published in 1951 by John Lehmann, this Macdonald reprint follows exactly the same format and design, with Minton’s wonderful illustrations within. Scarce in such pristine condition.
