BURROUGHS, William S. Exterminator!

£75.00

BURROUGHS, William S. Exterminator! London: Calder & Boyars. 1974. 8vo. First British edition. Publisher’s black cloth lettered in silver gilt to the spine, in the dust jacket designed by John Sewell. A very good copy, the cloth clean and bright, the gilt a trifle rubbed. The binding tight and square, the contents clean throughout with some mild offsetting to endpapers. The dust jacket unclipped (£2.85), the spine faded with some faint stains here, but a bright and sharp copy overall.

A collection of thirty mostly excellent short stories, conjuring worlds ‘peopled with junkie and pimps, adolescents with exploding pimples, pushers, quack doctors and phoney freedom fighters; in dingy hotel rooms and under a dim moon and stars, both in inner and outer space; both here and now and on the lonely fringes of a remote galaxy a million light years away’. It includes the story "The 'Priest' They Called Him", which Burroughs collaborated with Kurt Cobain, Burroughs reading, Cobain on guitar.
