OLSON, Charles. Archaeologist of Morning

£50.00

OLSON, Charles. Archaeologist of Morning. London: Cape Golliard Press. 1970. 4to. First edition. Publisher’s beige cloth lettered in blue gilt to the spine, in the dust jacket. A very good copy, the cloth clean, a trifle bumped at one or two corners, the boards a trifle bowed, minor. The binding tight and square, with some light stains and spots to textblock edges. The contents mostly fine, beating a few singular spots sporadically. The dust jacket unclipped, slightly marked at panels, the corners and tips slightly bumped and rubbed with a couple of small closed tears. An attractive copy overall.

A striking example of this posthumous collection of the poet’s works, including every poem published in the author’s lifetime, from 1946 until his death in 1970, apart from the Great Maximus Poems sequence. It includes Y & X, In Cold Hell, In Thicket, O’Ryan, The Distances, West, as well as scores of poems of major importance previously available only in rare magazines, journals and quarterlies.
